"Yet even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments." Return to the LORD, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love... Joel 2:12-13

While reading the book of Joel this morning I was reminded of the watch of the Lord, and that his people are not forgotten or put to shame. God calls us to a standard and he wants a heart that is broken for him and in complete submission. “Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the LORD has done great things!” The Lord God HAS poured out his Spirit and He is working.

As Jeni and I sat in our living room this morning talking about the Lords faithfulness to teach and guide us, I was reminded of a very special song that had not come from our lips since the morning following the riots in Afghanistan.

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ the risen one

And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your peace
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Did you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that God you're moving
A time of Jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide your heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Just reading the lines of this Song remind me of the 103 Psalm, in which we read of the amazing benefits. 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. 6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

Wow the truth of the words When all the saints join in one song -And all the streams flow as one river- To wash away our brokenness. What a beautiful day it will be when the time of Jubilee is complete, and people will dance before the Lord, just as David willing danced to HIS pleasure.
