Jeni and I had an amazing opportunity to visit Afghanistan this summer. Thanks to the support of many of our friends and Family, and a local ministry here in Louisville called SOZO. While there I was able to meet several of the friends that Jeni had talked so much about and I even took in some of the sights. I have included some of my favorite pictures the one of Istalef is Jeni’s favorite place in Afghanistan. The Kids were so warm and welcoming, and we had a lot of fun just discovering the new ways we related to each other while in this culture.

This week is another important week for us as a couple, in our days of ministry. As we spend each day working toward our goal of “M” we have had the blessing of working with SOZO, because of Jeni’s previous job, and they have asked us to represent them at the annual Concerned Christians for Afghanistan Conference. We will drive to Tennessee once I get off work Wed night, catch a few hours of sleep and then spend three full days enjoying the lectures and being able to talking t0 other “M’s” that have been at this thing a lot longer than we have thought about it.

PRAY:

• That we will be prepared in our heart to receive the messages and the encouragement that will be spoken during this meeting.
• That over the next year we will stay focused on what God has called us to-that we will not lose sight or be distracted from His purposes.
• That we will learn a lot at this conference about how to pray for and minister to Muslims, Afghans in particular.
